LARISA 
SANITARY LANDFILL

The construction of a sanitary landfill serving the wider area of Larissa in Greece is part of an integrated waste management programme designed to serve the Municipality of Larissa and the neighbouring municipalities and communities. The landfill serves an equivalent population of 160,000 inhabitants, accepts 60,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year and is designed for 30 years of operation. The total area of the plant is 56 hectares, 20 of which will be developed as landfilling in distinct phases.
