As part of our company’s ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful connections and collaboration with the local community, as well as supporting technical education, we welcomed a group of students from the Vocational High School of Akrotiri, Chania, to one of our Wind Farms in Crete.
The visit was conducted with the support of a local technical team from the project’s wind turbine Service Provider, along with the presence of our own technical staff, to ensure the smooth and safe implementation of this activity.
The students, specializing in the field of electrical engineering, had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the operation of a Wind Farm and the technical team’s preparation for maintenance and repair tasks.
During the visit, the participants:
- Were given a guided tour around a wind turbine, including the inside of the turbine’s tower (base level).
- Attended a demonstration of personal protective equipment.
- Received information on the basic procedures of operation, maintenance, and materials/spare parts management.
The activity was carried out successfully and in full compliance with health and safety protocols, following a carefully structured visit and demonstration schedule to ensure the safety of all participants. All the necessary safety equipment was provided by our company to everyone present.
This visit is part of the professional High School’s technical training program, aiming to introduce students to the field of Renewable Energy Sources, and specifically, Wind Energy. In this context, Envitec remains a committed supporter of the next generation of green energy professionals.
